Tut's Kitchen was birthed through Tiffany Rivers, which is the daughter of the late Jeanette "Tut" Rivers. In 2018, Tiffany decided to honor her mother's legacy and love for cooking by opening a restaurant, which allowed her to share her mother's various soul food dishes and love for cooking. As a child, Tiffany wasn't allowed to cook much in her mother's kitchen. However, Tiffany loved watching her mother move around in the kitchen cooking all types of wonderful meals for family and friends. Tiffany paid attention to everything her mother was doing and asked a lot of questions! Tiffany and her nephew Anthony created the hashtag #caughtinthekitchen based upon a quote from her mother, who would jokingly tell them they were "caught" in her kitchen and to get out! In addition to learning many recipes from her mother, Tiffany was also inspired by recipes from her grandmothers along with other influential family and friends in her life. After years of cooking, Tiffany also grew a love for baking sweet treats and other desserts. Not only does Tiffany enjoy cooking and baking, she also loves seeing others come together to enjoy good quality food.

Jeanette "Tut" Rivers passed in 2006, however her legacy of love for others and her gift of cooking will live on forever.
